About the IAM

The IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) is a national independent organisation (as a registered charity) whose financial support comes mainly from its 112,000 plus members.

Its aims are simple

1. To improve the standard of driving (and riding) on the UK roads.

2. The advancement of road safety.

3. The administration of the Advanced Driving Test.

What do I get when I pass?

When you successfully pass the IAM's Advanced Driving Test you receive the following benefits;

• "Advanced Driving" is the magazine from the IAM and is distributed 3 times a year to its members, crammed full of special offers, car test reports and items on all aspects of motoring.
• You will receive a certificate to show everyone as evidence of the high standard you have achieved.
• Lower insurance premiums from IAM Select Insurance
• and more importantly "By raising your driving to the standard of the Advanced Test, you would be safeguarding the lives of yourself, your family and friends, and even people you have never met."
